PHILIPS and TEFAL Generator Ironing Systems
Philips and Tefal steam generator irons work by heating water held in a station tank. This heated water by Philips 7000 Series and Tefal Pro Express Vision “generates” high-pressure steam which is fed through a hose to the iron’s soleplate.
This constant flow of hot PHILIPS PSG7300/80 and TEFAL GV9820G0 pressurised steam works deep into fabrics, efficiently ironing out wrinkles and creases, leaving laundry smooth.
Because the base water tanks on PHILIPS and TEFAL steam generators are separate – holding 1.5 and 1.2 litres, respectively – it makes the iron handle and soleplate light, easy to move, and requiring less refills.
The Tefal GV9820G0 and Philips PSG7300/80 steam generator irons are designed to handle ironing large loads of laundry with ease.
TEFAL and PHILIPS Iron Power
The PHILIPS PSG7300/80 7000 Series and TEFAL GV9820G0 Pro Express Vision come with a wattage rating of 3120 and 2800. Typically higher wattage PHILIPS and TEFAL models equals more powerful steam and quicker heat up time, but also greater home energy consumption.
Steam Generator Iron Bar Pressure
All PHILIPS or TEFAL steam generator irons have a “bar” rating, which is a measure of steam force output. The PHILIPS PSG7300/80 has 8.5 bar, and TEFAL GV9820G0 9 bar. The higher the bar pressure, the more steam from the Philips and Tefal soleplate holes, and better crease removal.
Steam output for the Philips 7000 Series PSG7300/80 is 170 grams per minute, and the Tefal Pro Express Vision GV9820G0 releases 180 grams every minute of ironing.
Both the Philips 7000 Series and Tefal Pro Express Vision feature “Boost”, which more than doubles the 170 and 180 gram/minute steam flow rate, for a short burst to assist the Philips PSG7300/80 and Tefal GV9820G0 iron heavy fabrics or stubborn creases.
