Gtech AirRam Features & Overview

Unlike Any Vacuum Cleaner You’ve Used Before…

Let’s face it: there’s not much to like about vacuuming. The electrical cord; the cumbersome hose; the weight that throws your back out when you carry the vacuum cleaner up the stairs; a bag that expels a massive cloud of dust when you so much as look at it the wrong way. The Gtech AirRam 2 does away with all these annoyances, making vacuuming, if not pleasurable, then at least tolerable.

Efficient Design Saves Time and Energy

Most cordless vacuum cleaners pull dirt into a chamber and create rapidly spinning cyclones to extract dust particles. Though that’s a big improvement over older vacuum cleaners, the AirRam operates in an entirely different manner: it collects dirt just 4 centimetres above floor level and turns it into small bales. This process is faster and more energy efficient than cyclonic technology.

Easy to Clean all Floor Types

The Gtech AirRam’s powered brush bar and suction fan lift stubborn dust and dirt, compressing it into bales, which can be disposed of in any garbage bin. It’s far cleaner than using a collection bag, and even less messy than emptying a rigid canister.

Lightweight for Unparalleled Comfort and Manoeuvrability

Despite the powerful motor, Gtech has managed to create a cordless vacuum cleaner that’s slim, light and easy to lift. At only 3.5 kilograms, it can be used by almost anyone, making carrying it from one room to the next, or up or down stairs, a cinch.

The AirRam is powered by a high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides 40 minutes of runtime on a 4-hour charge. That’s enough to clean your home twice over!

Green and Clean Cleaning Machine

When we think of power consumption, it’s usually the obvious things that spring to mind – light bulbs, televisions and laundry machines, for example. But did you know that the highest-rated, mains-powered upright vacuum cleaners consume a staggering average of 1,360 watts of electricity? Meanwhile, the AirRam practically sips at your electrical supply, consuming a mere 100 watts. That’s good for the environment and your bank balance.

Gtech Smarter Than the Average Vacuum Cleaner

Today’s data-driven world has made us hungry for information. The Gtech AirRam isn’t just intelligently designed – it’s “smart” enough to talk to your PC via a USB Data Bridge, letting you know the state of the battery, how much power you’ve saved, and how many calories you’ve burned – as well as cleaning and usage information, and a link to Gtech support staff.

The AirRam does just one thing (two, if you count its ability to connect to a computer), and it does it well. I’ve found it works brilliantly on pet hair – the arch-nemesis of so many underpowered vacuum cleaners – and has no trouble transitioning from carpet to hardwood.

It even looks great, so though I can easily fit it into a closet, I don’t at all mind leaving it sitting in a corner. If I had any complaints, it would be that it’s a little loud and that the filters need to be changed roughly every four weeks – but that’s a small price to pay for such ease of use and a lower electricity bill!

Gtech AirRam MK2 vacuums are a UK brand that was the first to sell their vacuums in the early 90s and has grown to become one of the most popular go-to cordless vacuum brands of today. The vacuum comes with a standard cordless stick vacuum, but no accessories are included to make it a handheld cleaner.

The MK2 is a grey vacuum with accents in standout green around the brushes and head. This vacuum is cordless and has a reclining handle that allows you to reach under furniture for a thorough clean.

The Gtech AirRam MK2 vacuum weighs just a tad over 3kg. It is slightly heavier than the lightest Dyson cordless. This vacuum is suitable for cleaning hard floors as well as carpet. However, it doesn’t include any attachments. It was designed to clean floor areas and not crevices or stairs.

The AirRam MK2’s floor head has a rotating brushbar that helps to move the carpet and remove as much dirt as possible. This brush roll is also designed to reduce hair buildup around the vacuum’s floorhead.

The only problem with the Gtech AirRam MK2 vacuum is that it cannot be used as a handheld device without a separate kit. It’s impossible to clean into corners and crevices with just the vacuum.

The vacuum features the AirLOC signature system that sucks dirt and dust from your brush as you clean. This locks the debris in place when you pull it back. This makes it easier to collect the dirt into the vacuum’s dustbin tank.
